How to create a Markets Human Design Environment Bedroom


In Human Design lore, the bedroom is very important. There is an intimidating parable about “sleeping in your own aura” that makes every person question how much they like sleeping with someone… or by themselves.

It brings up questions about sex, sleep, relationship dynamics, societal pressures, personal health, and more. So while you’re contemplating your sleep quality and unconscious life, check out these ideas when it comes to setting up a sleeping space that resonates with you.

These suggestions are not a strict bible to follow, but a starting point to get you thinking differently about your sleep space.

Splurge on your bedding

What do you want your body wrapped in at night? Do you like a breathable sheet? A shocking colour or print? The most luxurious textures? Something fun? Whatever you like to sleep in, give it a moment. Consider having a bedspread for each season. Depending on where you live, you may need warmer options in cooler months and vice versa.


Try bedtime crystals

Decide what type of energy you want to sleep in, and select the perfect stone to encourage that energy to permeate your space. Switch it out when you’re sick of it. To encourage intimacy and connection, try Rose Quartz. To encourage rest and restoration, try Amethyst. If you want to feel safe, secure, and protected energetically, try a black stone like Onyx or Black Tourmaline. Tuck a stone on your night table or inside your pillowcase if it’s tumbled and durable.


Move your room around

Anytime you feel a slump coming on, move your bedroom around — which means prioritizing a space and furniture selections that allow you to move things around, whether they are modular or simply accommodating to switching it up.


Stock the night table

Prioritize your favourite bedtime items to have a special place in your night table. Gather your favourite tarot deck, find a cute little dish for your earplugs, or lube, sex toys, the book you’re reading — whatever your bedtime essentials are, give them their own spot and make sure they’re within reach.


Pick your sleep outfit

What feels good for you to sleep in? Do you need to be clothing-free in order to have a good sleep? Do you need a specific pair of sleepwear? Gotta go commando? Whatever your sleepwear thing is, notice how your sleep is compromised or affected if you don’t honour your sleep attire.


Deep clean each season

When you deep clean, you may notice you move some things around! It’s a good idea to do a deep physical and energetic cleanse of your room seasonally, or with each solstice and equinox. Sweep out any stale energies, and ensure to keep things fresh. Clean out your sock drawer. Clean under the bed. Open the windows. Let it breathe.


Have a cozy spot

Pick a fave spot in the room! Is it the middle of the bed? Are you always on the right side? The left side? Which side table do you use most? Pick a favourite spot and stick with it, or switch it up seasonally depending how you feel.
