Inner Expeditions Disclaimer

Updated February 10, 2026

Inner Expeditions are a divinatory experience that explores depth psychology. They are a meaning-making practice, offering contact with what is numinous, symbolic, and at times indescribable.

Through practices of active imagination informed by Jungian psychology, Inner Expeditions also draw on shamanic principles as a way to decondition patterns and explore areas of internal stagnation or blockage that may contribute to a sick spirit.

In traditional shamanic journeying, practitioners enter non-ordinary reality through rhythmic sound, such as a steady drumbeat, travelling through upper, middle, and lower worlds. These journeys are often rooted in teachings shaped by community, culture, and local landscape.

Inner Expeditions function as a journey practice that activates the imagination to create a living map of the unconscious. By engaging the imagination with intention, practitioners open the psyche and body to a meaningful exploration of what has not yet become fully conscious.

These journeys deliver you to your inner landscapes through modern, emotive music, while offering a gentle mission to keep the mind engaged in an actively imagining state as you explore.

This work is informed by shamanic principles from various traditions alongside modern depth psychology and experimentation. It does not claim lineage, certification, or authority within any specific Indigenous or traditional shamanic culture, and is shaped by my studies in High Sound Human Design Variable integration.

To support the mapping of inner terrain, I have created Omen Catalogues — world-building references designed to help orient what may be shifting, unblocking, or coming into awareness through the journey process. Decode the creatures, landscapes, botanicals and colours you envision within to begin unfolding an inner Playing Field of Life.

Because symbols carry different meanings across cultures and life experiences, some individuals may find it more resonant to create their own Legend. The Inner Expedition Legends I provide are drawn from my personal experience and practice and are offered as references, not prescriptions. You are invited to adapt them, reinterpret them, or build your own symbolic language if that feels more aligned.

I use Inner Expeditions as a way to process and understand the traumas I have experienced in my own life. At its core, this practice is for individuals who have lived through rupture and are ready to meet what those experiences hold through embodied awareness and meaning-making.

At the same time, it is important to acknowledge the nuance and complexity of trauma stored in the body. Meditative or imaginative practices can sometimes feel destabilizing. I recommend engaging with Inner Expeditions only when you feel grounded and resourced, in a non-anxious state, and ready to explore your inner world. These journeys can be emotionally rich as sensations, memories, and imagery move through the system.

Inner Expeditions are not a replacement for medical, psychological, psychiatric, or therapeutic care. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition. This healing art is educational, exploratory, and shamanic in nature.

When beginning this practice, it is very natural to doubt what you are envisioning or to think you are “making it all up.” You are — and that is precisely what makes this practice powerful. By befriending the mind and restoring relationship with the imagination, Inner Expeditions support the development of a rich, layered inner world with depth, texture, and meaning.

This practice may not be suitable for individuals experiencing acute psychological distress, dissociation, psychosis, active addiction, or those currently in crisis. If you are under the care of a mental health professional, you may wish to discuss this practice with them before engaging.

You are encouraged to move at your own pace, take breaks, and stop the practice at any time if you feel overwhelmed. Grounding, hydration, rest, and integration are essential parts of this work.

By choosing to engage with Inner Expeditions, you take full responsibility for your experience, your interpretations, and any actions you take as a result of this practice.
